So It Goes...

I am a lot of things. My degree is in creative writing and communications. That's not a job, so I opened Lemonjello's Coffee in Holland, MI in 2003. I run it and still work the bar every day. I am a USCC barista competitor since 2012 and just placed second in the 2015 North Central regionals. I am an SCAA certified lead instructor and Espresso Subject Matter Expert. I serve on the Barista Guild's Events Committee and as the "Barista Guild's sustainability liason to the SCAA sustainability council" (that's a mouthfull). All of this fits together to allow me to go in the direction of my 2 goals: Give baristas and café owners incredible learning and networking opportunities that I didn't have & to help all of us understand how to make "the café" better.

That's what this blog is. It's my exploration (mostly for myself) into what it would look like to have a café that combines a Perfect Space with Perfect Service and a Perfect Zero Waste system.

What I love most about my life is that I'm always learning. For me, it's also time to start documenting that.
